We feel that John was EXTREMELY valuable as one who was able to provide us with a HUGE range of options for buying a home in this inflated market. He ran through scenarios with us from buying an investment apartment, a town home, a house in Port Moody, Coquitlam or buying in North Vancouver. He even took into consideration childcare costs and family support as part of our decision making and not just a raw dollar equation. I feel like he was an integral part of helping us figure out that we could actually afford a home in North Van and the benefits of buying here vs. elsewhere (plus the disadvantages) and when we were in a bit of a bidding process with the seller, he was able to rejig the numbers over and over and was available by cell at 11 pm at night so that he could make it happen. We own this home, in large part because of he superior assistance. Furthermore, we aren't in a position where we are stretched beyond our comfort to make the mortgage payments. He completely understood our circumstances and provided us with a mortgage to meet that. For instance, he was able to find us a 30 year mortgage with low monthly payments while I'm in school that also allows us to pay it off much more quickly when I have an income. I really can't say enough about how fantastic his help was to us.
